45. Coffee concert: Troubadour Trail I
Christ Church, Appleton-le-Moors Main Street, Appleton-le-Moors, North Yorkshire, United KingdomMusic-making at its simplest and most mobile. A spellbinding duo set out on a ‘troubadour trail’ across Ryedale, bringing music to three beautiful and intimate North Yorkshire locations. Their first stop is Christ Church, Appleton-le-Moors, described as ‘the little gem of moorland churches’ with its early French Gothic interior and pyramid spire.
46. Relaxed concert: Tea and Tunes
Amotherby Village Hall 1 Amotherby Lane, Amothherby, North Yorkshire, United KingdomJoin Siân and Krystal for a cup of tea and enjoy songs and poems about the animal kingdom. Presented in partnership with Ryedale Carers Support, this is a relaxed, informal and interactive concert created for people living with dementia, their friends, family and carers – and anyone else who would like to attend. The music will last for around one hour and everyone is welcome to come and go as they please and respond to the music in whatever way is natural for them.

Duncombe Park HelmsleyExtolled worldwide as a foremost interpreter of Rachmaninov’s music, Boris Giltburg offers Ryedale audiences a chance to hear his rarely performed first sonata, a work of stupefying virtuosity that evokes a titanic battle between good and evil (containing a wonderful tune with pre-echoes of Paul McCartney’s Yesterday), before turning to the much-loved Preludes that Rachmaninov composed in a mood of creative elation.
