The door is open to everyone with our community projects. Make a donation today and you can help ensure we are able to deliver a vibrant programme of music, performance and participation opportunities for everyone in our community. Thank you for thinking of us.

About Community Music at the Ryedale Festival

The Festival has a long tradition of Community Operas and Community Song Cycles, co-created by professionals and amateur performers, and bringing together people from all walks of life. Friendships are formed, skills are learnt, horizons are widened, and vibrant stories are told.

We also work closely with the Richard Shephard Music Foundation to ensure that as many children as possible in Ryedale have access to musical opportunities, with the Yorkshire Post recognising the ‘commitment the Ryedale Festival has to encouraging young people to participate and enjoy what is on their doorstep’.

The Festival also stages regular Come and Sing events, with leaders including John Rutter, VOCES8 and Ben Parry.

All are welcome to take part. Enthusiasm is all you need and no previous experience of singing or reading music is necessary, as you will be guided by brilliant professionals and welcomed by a wonderful community.
