Christopher Glynn

Chris is a Grammy award-winning pianist and one of the country’s best-known accompanists and chamber musicians. He performs with leading singers, instrumentalists and ensembles throughout the world and has made many acclaimed and ground-breaking recordings.

Chris combines his performing life with the role of Artistic Director of the Ryedale Festival, where he has been praised as a ‘visionary’ and ‘inspired programmer’ (The Times) and champions the important role that local and regional festivals can play on the wider artistic stage. He has curated projects for the Wigmore Hall and a wide variety of international festivals and in 2015 he founded Polyhymnia to bring classical song to a wider audience.

Chris is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Music (where he also teaches), a Vice-President of Music in Hospitals and Care, President of Chiltern Arts, a Trustee of Music in the Round and Artistic Advisor to a number of organisations including the Richard Shephard Music Foundation. He has three children, lives in London with his partner Jo, and loves books, pubs and mountains.
