Alim Beisembayev was born in Kazakhstan in 1998 and started playing the piano at the age of 5. He swept the board at The Leeds International Piano Competition in September 2021, winning First Prize, Audience Prize and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Society Prize. His rich programme includes the last major piano works by both Haydn and Beethoven and Chopin’s Preludes, a mosaic that is both twenty-four short pieces and one long one.
