John Blow Venus and Adonis
Join us for the first great English opera, in a new pop-up production specially created for three of Ryedale’s most beautiful and historic churches. Composed for the pleasure-loving court of Charles II, it teaches the difference between desire, lust and love, moving seamlessly between comedy, tragedy, worldly cynicism and witty innuendo, towards a devastating and unforgettable conclusion.
