Meet the Kleio Quartet – first prize winners at last year’s prestigious Carl Nielson International Quartet Competition – as they launch the Ryedale Festival’s 2024 Season with a programme full of joy.
Haydn brings together gratitude, good humour and a graveyard scene in one of his most famous quartets. Jazz meets chamber music as Wynton Marsalis remembers his childhood in New Orleans. And Dvořák celebrates a homecoming in music that is both playful and profound.
