All ages and abilities are welcome at this singing workshop led by the inspiring director Sarah Latto and members of echo. They start with the sound world of Purcell, delving into his catches, canons and ground basses to show how improvisation can be used in performance, from ancient classical music to contemporary folk and pop songs. An ability to read music is not needed – just enthusiasm and a desire to sing. After a short break for lunch, the workshop will end with a short informal performance at 1.30pm for friends and family.
