The Luxembourgish cellist Benjamin Kruithof is the winner of the 2022 Georges Enescu competition in Bucharest. He also won 1st prize and the Audience Awards numerous other international competitions. He has performed as soloist with orchestras such as, the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra, the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra, the Luxembourg Chamber Orchestra, and the Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie Herford, in prestigious venues such as Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Gasteig in Munich, Kings Place in London, Guangzhou Opera House, the Philharmonie Luxembourg-City, Salle Cortot in Paris, Athenaeum in Bucharest. Benjamin is also very active as a chamber musician and in February 2020 he recorded his first CD “Russian Mood” for the label Ars Production. He is currently playing a precious 18th-century instrument made by the Italian violin maker G.B. Guadagnini, which is on loan from the Berlin University of the Arts.
