Castle Howard Estate, York, YO60 7DA. All cars must be parked in the main car park and either walk down to the house or use the ‘Kelly Cart.’
There are two train stations near Castle Howard, York or Malton. From either of these stations you will need a taxi or by bus to make it to Castle Howard.
There is a bus that runs from York and Malton to Castle Howard. Please check the bus timetable for how often this is.
Those with disabled passengers may be able to drop off the passengers by the house and then return to the main car park. There is disable parking in the main car park. If you are wanting to park by the house for mobility issues, please contact the Box Office so we can discuss with Castle Howard.
The ‘Triple’ concerts held at Castle Howard are not ideal for those with mobility issues. The three concerts take place in the Great Hall, the Long Gallery, and the Chapel, and although access to the Great Hall and Long Gallery is via stairs which are equipped with a ‘stairlift’. However – there is no similar access to the Chapel where there is a short flight of steep stairs, and concert-goers who are fully reliant on a wheelchair must appreciate that only two out of the three concerts will be available to them.
There are accessible toilets on both floors. The toilets on the ground floor are level access and is located near to the interval drinks area. The toilets on the first floor are located near the Great Hall. If you are unsure, please ask a member of staff.
