A theatrical retelling of Pride and Prejudice by novelist and Austen biographer Gill Hornby, to mark the 250th anniversary of the birth of Jane Austen. The famous romance between Elizabeth Bennet and Mr Darcy is presented in an intimate drawing room setting, in much the same way that Jane herself first read the story aloud to the Austen family and their close friends. Star of stage and screen Harriet Walter brings the story to life, while the famous score that Carl Davis composed for 1995 BBC television adaptation (starring Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth) is performed by violinist Madeleine Easton and pianist Melvyn Tan. Join us for an entertainment full of laugh-out loud moments and wonderful surprises.
