This husband-and-wife duo pay tribute to Max Jaffa, pre-eminent light music violinist of his generation, who was especially loved in Yorkshire for his 27 seasons performing in Scarborough. Simon (who now plays Max Jaffa’s Guarnerius violin) and Saoko present wonderful salon pieces that had been largely forgotten, a mixture of gorgeous melodies, soulful ballads and electrifying gypsy dances that encapsulate the unique Max Jaffa flavour.

Music-making at its simplest and most mobile. A spellbinding duo set out on a ‘troubadour trail’ across Ryedale, bringing music to three beautiful and intimate North Yorkshire locations. Their first stop is Christ Church, Appleton-le-Moors, described as ‘the little gem of moorland churches’ with its early French Gothic interior and pyramid spire.
