The King’s Singers
Fretwork

Experience the majestic blend of voices that makes the King’s Singers the gold standard in singing across the world. Presented in The King’s Singers’ unique style, that famous honeyed sound, mingled with top viol consort Fretwork is set to sound extra-special in the perfect acoustic of St Peter’s, Norton. Expect beauty, drama, storytelling, music by William Byrd and Thomas Weelkes, and new music by James MacMillan and Roderick Williams.

400 years ago in 1623, England lost two of its greatest composers – William Byrd and Thomas Weelkes. This performance focuses on the humanity behind these two giants of Elizabethan music and features well-known gems alongside works which are rarely heard, and a special encore in which the Ryedale Primary Choir will make its festival debut.
