The King’s Singers
Fretwork
400 years ago in 1623, England lost two of its greatest composers – William Byrd and Thomas Weelkes. This performance focuses on the humanity behind these two giants of Elizabethan music and features well-known gems alongside works which are rarely heard. Presented in The King’s Singers’ unique style, expect beauty, drama, storytelling, new works by James MacMillan and Roderick Williams, and a special encore in which the Ryedale Primary Choir will make its festival debut.
