Dear Ryedale Festival friends and supporters,

One of the things audiences seem to most value about the Ryedale Festival is its welcoming and friendly atmosphere – and I’m sure that will be in evidence at our forthcoming Friends' Lunch, which despite the name is open to all who would like to attend, whether or not they are members or friends. So do join us on the 18th May at the Forest & Vale in Pickering for what promises to be a lively and enjoyable occasion – and maybe bring along your friends and introduce them to the Festival too.

Our speaker will be Robert Hollingworth – conductor, scholar and a famously witty and entertaining speaker, with a fresh and unique take on life and music alike. Robert is well-known for founding the vocal ensemble I Fagiolini (literally ‘the little beans’ – the name is typical of his quirky and witty approach) who shot to prominence with a recording of Monteverdi called The Full Monty and have been at the forefront of British music-making ever since.

Those ‘little beans’ will be performing Monteverdi (from the latest album The Other Vespers) and a programme all about food (described by Gramophone as ‘a bit sexy, a bit silly and absolutely unmissably superb!’) in the forthcoming Festival; and Robert will also be conducting his chamber choir from York University, The 24, in a new venue for the Festival in York.

I’m pleased to tell you that tickets are selling fast for all these concerts, and for the Festival in general. So do get your booking forms in, if you haven’t already, and please join us for what promises to be a special lunch on Friday 18th May 2018 at 12.00pm for 12.30pm start at the Forest & Vale Hotel in Pickering

Tickets for this event are £26. All orders to be received by 4th May.
